British Airways set to increase Nashville service
  • British Airways has confirmed it will increase its service from London Heathrow to Nashville offering daily flights from next summer. The airline, which launched the service between the two cities in May, will operate a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the route carrying 214 passengers across three cabins. Passengers using the service will receive complimentary meals and drinks, widescreen seat back TVs, on-demand entertainment options and and a free checked bag.

Delta Air Lines launches new service to Boston from Edinburgh
Delta Air Lines is launching a new service from Edinburgh to Boston in the summer of 2019. The non-stop service starting May 24 will be the airline’s second daily departure from Edinburgh in addition to the existing daily flight to JFK, New York. The airline will offer the service in conjunction with its joint venture with Virgin Atlantic. Delta will operate a 163-seat Boeing 757-200ER on the route with a 16 flat-bed seat Delta One business class cabin. Flights will depart Boston at 22:15 and arrive in Edinburgh at 09:25, next day. The return flight will depart Edinburgh at 10:55 and arrive in Boston at 13:02.

Direct Flight between London Heathrow to Shenzhen, China
  • Shenzhen Airlines started its new operations to London Heathrow with its first direct flight that touched down recently. The Chinese carrier will serve the connection, which is Heathrow's 11th route to China, three times a week using its A330-300s. With the new route, London Heathrow has more than doubled its direct flights to China in 2018 with Shenzhen joining Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Chongqing, Wuhan, Sanya, Changsa, and Xi'an. "This year, we have focused on strengthening Heathrow's role as the UK's gateway for Chinese trade, commerce and tourism," reports quoted Ross Baker, the CCO of Heathrow Airport as saying.
Manchester Airport celebrates three milestones in £1bn transformation
  • As part of its ongoing £1bn transformation, Manchester Airport recently celebrated three milestones with the completion of the extension to Terminal Two, a new multi-storey car park and the bridge linking the two buildings. Manchester airport chief executive Andrew Cowan said: "It is exciting to mark these milestones as they demonstrate how much progress has been made on our transformation programme since starting work just more than a year ago."
Emirates' new first class suites to be soon available for Vienna flights
  • Beginning December 1, 2018, Emirates customers will be able to enjoy the airline’s new first class suites on Dubai to Vienna route. Flight EK125 will depart Dubai at 4:50pm and land in Vienna at 8:00pm. The return flight, EK126, will leave Vienna at 9:55pm and arrive back in Dubai at 6:35am the following morning. The new suites are only found aboard Emirates’ new 777-300ERs. Each new first class suite has up to 40 square feet of personal space; and there are just six suites per aircraft.
EL Al launches Manchester-Tel Aviv route
  • El Al Israel Airlines will launch Tel Aviv-Manchester flights from May 2019. El Al will offer three weekly flights; the flights will operate on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering two service classes - business and economy class. 
    Julian Carr, Aviation Director at Manchester Airport, said: "We are delighted to welcome El Al to Manchester Airport with flights to Tel Aviv. The carrier will offer the 22 million passengers in our vast catchment area more choice and accessibility to this part of the world. I am sure it will prove hugely popular and look forward to flights commencing next year."
Qantas to open new First Lounge in Singapore
  • Qantas plans to build a new First Lounge at Singapore's Changi Airport - its second outside of Australia and fourth in the world - after Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles. The new lounge will have the capacity of up to 240 passengers and is expected to be completed by end of 2019. It will also include the expansion of the carrier’s existing Business Lounge at Changi Airport which opened in 2013.
Delta Air Lines unveils cabin design for its new Airbus A220 aircraft
  • Delta Air Lines has unveiled the cabin designs for its brand new A220 aircraft which boasts larger seats, bathrooms with windows and state-of-the-art entertainment screens. The carrier will be the first airline in the US to take delivery of the new aircraft model.  Delta Air Lines’ first flight on its brand-new Airbus A220s will come on January 31, 2019.
London Stansted Airport reports busiest ever September
  • London Stansted, the UK’s fourth busiest airport, recorded its busiest ever September with 2.7 million passengers passing through the Essex airport. According to the latest figures, the airport saw passenger numbers rise by over 9% year on year, making September 2018, the busiest September in the airport’s history.
British Airways announces new route to Charleston from London Heathrow
  • British Airways has announced a new twice-weekly summer service from London Heathrow to the US city of Charleston from April 2019. The new route will be the only direct flight between Europe and the southern US city. The airline will be operating one of its 787 Dreamliner’s on the route to South Carolina on Thursdays and Sundays. This additional flight takes the number of BA routes to the US to 29.
