American Airlines Initiates Free Preferred Seat Access for Corporate Travellers
  • American Airlines has recently launched a website providing corporate travellers access to economy cabin Preferred Seats at no charge. The website allows corporate travellers to reserve window and aisle seats, which are usually saved for frequent flyers. The benefit applies only to Preferred Seats, which offer standard economy legroom and not to the airline's Main Cabin Extra seats, which have extra legroom and pitch.

Jet Airways Expands Codeshare with Delta & Air France-KLM
Jet Airways of India is expanding its partnership with the US carrier Delta Air Lines and Air France-KLM with added codeshares and full reciprocity among the airlines' frequent-flyer programmes. The new codeshare with Delta will give the carrier access to 13 international airports and 10 domestic destinations in the US via Paris. Jet Airways will enjoy access to eight more points in the US via Paris from the deal with Air France.

Alaska Airlines Ranked Number One in the US
  • A study of US based airlines has seen Alaska Airlines ranked the number one in the country for the second year running. Delta was ranked the second best US airline followed by JetBlue and Southwest. Virgin America completes the list of the top five airlines in the US. The study rated the overall performance of US airlines based on five areas - cancelled flights, customer satisfaction, denied boarding's, mishandled baggage and on-time arrivals.
Qantas to Launch Direct Melbourne-Narita Flights
  • Australian flag carrier, Qantas will launch daily direct flights between Melbourne and Tokyo's Narita Airport from 16th December 2016, in a response to the rising demand on the route. A two-class A330-300, with 297 seats, will be used to operate the service. The new service adds to the airline's popular Sydney-Tokyo (Haneda) and Brisbane-Tokyo (Narita) services, launched in 2015.
Michelin-Star Dining From Manchester Airport
  • Business Class passengers heading to Chicago, Philadelphia and New York from Manchester will be treated to Michelin-Star cuisine courtesy of renowned British chef, Mark Sargeant. Business Class travellers will be treated to delights such as "a fresh and fragrant gem wedge salad with roasted squash, dried cranberries and a black sesame and tahini dressing".
M&S Available at 35,000ft with British Airways
  • According to news reports, British Airways is one step closer to selling Marks and Spencer's ever popular take away food onboard its short haul flights. TTG says the two British companies have struck a deal which will see the airline sell M&S sandwiches and snacks on its short haul routes, replacing the free snacks available now. It is believed that if successful, the airline will be able to pass on these cost savings to the customer and offer new cheaper flights.
Hanging Gardens of Heathrow!
  • London Heathrow Airport has installed a new vertical garden of more than 1,600 plants in a bid to de-stress passengers travelling through its busy Terminal Three. Bosses at the airport, which carries more than 70 million passengers each year, say the shrubs have purifying benefits and were chosen based on those used to clean and refresh the air on the International Space Station.
Air New Zealand to Offer In-Flight Wi-Fi
  • Air New Zealand plans to add in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity to its aircraft from next year. The service will be first available on flights between Australia and New Zealand, from the second half of 2017. Later, Wi-Fi will become "progressively available on Tasman, Pacific Island and long-haul jet fleets from the end of next year", and domestic services from 2018. CEO Christopher Luxon said: "Our new system will also allow us to enhance real-time features within our state-of-the-art In-flight Entertainment System as well as providing our flight crew with an enhanced ability to manage customer requests related to their ground travel."
Qantas Opens New International Business Lounge at Brisbane Airport
  • With the opening of the Qantas Brisbane International Lounge, passengers at Brisbane Airport will now enjoy seasonal food, a 'hydration station' and an indigenous art installation as they await their international flights. The lounge is open to business class travellers, Qantas Club members, and eligible frequent flyer and oneworld travellers.
Budget Airline Launches Kid Free Zones on Flights
  • Indian budget airline IndiGo had introduced kid free zones on its aircraft with many industry insiders expecting other airlines to follow suit. The airline, which is one of the world's largest low-cost carriers offering flights to more than 40 destinations, is to offer "quiet zones" on its aircraft with children under the age of travel banned from eight rows of seats. IndiGo is the first major airline to introduce such a policy although some other carriers in Asia, such as Singapore-based Scoot have offered paid-for child free rows.
Bristol Airport Opens Brand New Terminal Extension
  • Bristol Airport, which welcomes more than 7 million travellers through its doors each year, has opened its new terminal extension to passengers from the South West and Wales. This first phase (when fully completed, the total cost will be in excess of £24m) includes a larger security with five new lanes. Once completed, the full expansion will include 12 new security lanes, a Fast Track Zone and a pre-boarding preparation area.
London Hotel Openings
New citizenM Tower of London Hotel Open for Business
The citizenM Tower of London recently opened in the heart of one of London's most historical sites. Located right opposite the world famous Tower of London, the new property has 370 rooms and offers fantastic views of the surroundings. The hotel�s business meeting rooms are spacious and fully-functional, with whiteboards, blackboards, hi-speed Wi-Fi access.
Montcalm Royal London House - City Of London Now Open
  • The Montcalm Royal London House, a 256-room luxury hotel, opened recently in London City. The hotel has a spacious bar which serves craft ales and cocktails and a rooftop restaurant which offers stunning views of the city. Two suites, each with a terrace, are available for private events. Moreover, and there is a banqueting suite on the lower ground level.

Sheraton London Park Lane Hotel Reopens After Renovation
The Sheraton London Park Lane Hotel, first opened in 1927, reopened recently after a major renovation. Located in the heart of Mayfair, just a short walk away from the Buckingham Palace, the Sheraton London Park Lane is well connected to all parts of the city. All 303 rooms and suites of the hotel have been renovated.
Park Plaza London Waterloo to Open Soon

An old government office building has been transformed into the 494-bedroom Park Plaza London Waterloo. The hotel is expected to open for business by the end of the year. The hotel has a swimming pool, spa and roof top lounge. Moreover, Guests will also be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi access.
