Emirates to add another A380 daily to Birmingham
  • Dubai-based Emirates will be introducing a second daily A380 service between Birmingham and Dubai starting 29 October 2017. Flight EK39/40, currently operated by a Boeing 777, will now be operated by the A380, making it a twice daily and an all-A380 service from the Midlands. The aircraft will operate in a two class configuration, featuring 58 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 557 seats in Economy Class.

Aeromexico starts direct daily service between London and Mexico City
Aeromexico has started operating a daily nonstop service between London and Mexico City. The airline started flights between the two countries in 2012 with three services per week, which was later expanded to six weekly flights in 2016 and now finally to seven in a week. The airline is using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, with a 2-2-2 seat configuration, on the route. Aeromexico is also offering Chauffeur Service, a transportation option for Clase Premier Passengers travelling between London and T4 at Heathrow.

British Airways' in-flight Wi-Fi options to start from £4.99
  • British Airways has announced the pricing structure for its new long-haul Wi-Fi service which is being rolled out onto B747 aircraft. As of now, the British carrier has one Boeing jumbo equipped with the technology.
    As per the reports, customers can choose from one-hour's access for £4.99 (Simply Connect) or £7.99 (Connect Plus), a four-hour option for £10.99 (Simply Connect) or £17.99 (Connect Plus), and a full flight pass for £14.99 (Simply Connect) or £23.99 (Connect Plus).
Dubai airport opens Sleep 'n' Fly lounge
  • Dubai International Airport is offering 27 sleep pods and cabins as part of the new Sleep 'n' Fly lounge in Terminal 3. Sleep 'n' Fly lounge features 20 Igloo sleep pods and seven Yawn cabins with double beds. They can also be used as private offices. Located close to Gate A1 in Concourse A, pods or cabins can be booked for one-hour to up to an entire night.
Delta to connect Glasgow and New York
  • Delta has launched a non-stop service from Glasgow to New York-JFK, offering more options to travellers flying between Scotland and the USA. The new service will be operated throughout the summer and will offer convenient connections to over 60 destinations throughout the USA and beyond via Delta's New York hub. "Linking Glasgow non-stop to New York is an important step in strengthening our joint network to offer our Scottish customers greater travel choice to more destinations across the US, including Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles," said Frank Jahangir, Delta's Vice President, Sales and Affairs.
Centara opens its first hotel in the Middle East
  • Centara Hotels & Resorts has recently opened a 152-room hotel in Muscat, Oman. Centara Muscat Hotel is located in the Ghala Heights business district, close to the convention centre and the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. The hotel is around 15 minutes from the international airport. It features three restaurants, a spa, and a rooftop pool and terrace with views of the surrounding area. Centara Muscat Hotel has a premium lounge and banquet and meeting facilities and offers complimentary Wi-Fi access to the guests.
China Southern Airlines doubles Heathrow-Guangzhou daily service
  • China Southern Airlines has doubled its daily service from Heathrow to Guangzhou. The additional flight will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner out of Terminal 4. Nick Newman, Commercial Manager for UK and Ireland, said: "Our mission is to make diverse destinations like China more accessible for UK travellers, so we're thrilled to be able to add a second daily flight from London to Guangzhou."
    The new flight will depart Heathrow at 12.35pm and land in Guangzhou at 7.10am. For the return journey, the flight will leave Guangzhou at 12.55am and land in London at 6.35am.
New passenger lounge opens at Baltimore/Washington International Airport
  • A new passenger lounge has been inaugurated at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. The Club BWI is located in Concourse D near Gate 10 and is open to any traveller for a $40 daily fee (£30 approx.). It's also open to members of Priority Pass, LoungeKey and Lounge Club. The new lounge offers complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, Wi-Fi access and reading materials.
Air Asia to launch low-cost airline in China
  • Air Asia has signed a joint venture with state-owned conglomerate Everbright to set up a low-cost carrier (LCC) in China. Air Asia CEO Tony Fernandes said: "In just 16 years, we have successfully built a presence in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, India and Japan, with China closing the loop on all major territories in Asia Pacific."
Delta to feature all-suite seating in business class
  • Delta will soon unveil the Delta One suite, the "first business-class cabin to feature all-suite seating". The suites will mark a debut on the airline's Airbus A350. Each suite will feature a sliding door and have customizable lighting; dedicated stowage compartments for headphones, shoes and laptops; USB ports and universal power outlets; and 18-inch television screens.
Hainan Airlines to operate daily Manchester-Beijing service
  • The Chinese carrier, Hainan Airlines will operate daily flights between Manchester and Beijing from July until the end of September, which is the peak summer period. The airline's General Manager, Loic Gao, said: "In line with our ambitious expansion into the UK market the decision to increase our capacity to a daily flight from Manchester to Beijing shows our commitment to our UK operation."
Jet Airways to commence third daily Mumbai-London flight
  • India's Jet Airways is adding a third non-stop daily flight between London and Mumbai. Effective October 29, 2017, the new service 9W 116 will depart Mumbai at 0905 to arrive in London Heathrow at 1335. On return, 9W 115 will leave London Heathrow at 1530 and arrive in Mumbai at 0555. The airline is also rescheduling its two existing non-stop daily services on the route from the end of October. Flights 9W118 and 9W120, which depart from Mumbai for London at 1255 and 0145, will take off at 1310 and 0230 respectively. Return flights 9W117 and 9W119, which depart London at 2120 and 0930, will leave at 2105 and 1005 respectively.
