Emirates' uber luxurious First-Class Suites revealed
  • Emirates are completely revamping their First Class cabins. According to The Sun's travel experts, the Middle Eastern airline's new designs are based on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class with every passenger getting their own suite. The new suites will offer floor to ceiling sliding doors and have 40 square feet of personal space. The suites will also have the new NASA-inspired "zero-gravity" seats which offer ultimate luxury and comfort to passengers. Each suite also has a 32-inch digital touch screen TV, a full height wardrobe and a pair of binoculars.

London Gatwick records bumper summer
Passenger numbers at London Gatwick, the UK's second busiest airport rose by more than 5% to a staggering 26.4 million during the six months to September with the number of long-haul passengers up by more than 12% over the same period. Gatwick has been boosted by new long-haul services such as new routes to Seattle, Singapore and Denver, as well as RwandAir introducing direct flights to Kigali. Airport bosses expect this momentum to continue with further long-haul destinations recently added to destinations such as Buenos Aires, Austin, Chicago and China Airlines’ direct flight to Taipei next week (Dec 1).

Air New Zealand opens Business Class lounge at Perth Airport
  • Air New Zealand has opened its new lounge at Perth Airport. Designed similar to lounges in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, which in turn are inspired from the carrier's flagship lounge in Auckland, it will have a capacity of over 110 guests. The lounge has a self-service buffet and drinks station and a café as well as business and lounge areas. The lounge is located past Perth Airport's duty-free retail zone.
Bulgari opens a premium hotel in Dubai
  • Italian jewellery brand Bulgari is opened what is billed as Dubai’s most expensive hotel on December 7th. The resort sits on Jumeirah Bay, connected to Downtown Dubai via a 300m bridge. Unlike many of Dubai’s many skyscraper hotels, Bulgari Resort Dubai has a low-rise architecture with 101 rooms and suites set across four floors.
China Airlines launches nonstop flights between Taipei and London
  • China Airlines has started operating four weekly nonstop flights between Taipei, Taiwan (TPE) and London-Gatwick (LGW) using the A350-900XWB aircraft. China Airlines is the only airline in Taiwan to operate nonstop flights between Taipei and London. The airline already offers nonstop flights from Taipei to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Vienna and Rome. With the inclusion of the London flight, China Airlines will run 22 flights to five European cities in a week.
Qatar Airways announces launch of direct daily flights to Cardiff
  • Qatar Airways has announced the launch of direct daily flights to Cardiff from 1 May 2018, making the airline the first Gulf carrier to service Wales and Southwest England. Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: "We are delighted to announce the launch of our new route to the Welsh capital. Many travellers currently fly to and from London using ground transport between London and Cardiff, and the launch of direct service will allow passengers to fly directly from Wales and the Southwest to Doha and beyond for the first time. We look forward to offering both business and leisure travellers this convenient connection to Cardiff and points beyond."
Qantas opens new lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 3
  • Ahead of the launch of its direct 787 Dreamliner flights between Australia and London starting early next year, Qantas recently opened its first ever lounge at London Heathrow Airport. "We have worked with leaders in design, food and service to create a lounge that is modern and comfortable and incorporates the aesthetics of the Qantas lounges that make our customers feel at home," said Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce.
Additional flights to Hong Kong from Manchester with Cathay Pacific
  • Celebrating three years of operations out of Manchester Airport, Cathay Pacific is launching additional flights to Hong Kong. According to bosses, the airline is soon to offer daily flights to the city in a response to public demand. The additional flights will be operated using an Airbus A350 and once in Hong Kong, passengers from the North West have access to a further 190 destinations.
Lufthansa reveals its new Business Class seats
  • German carrier Lufthansa has unveiled the latest design for its Business Class cabin. It will be rolled out in 2020 in 34 Boeing 777-9s and is expected to have a capacity for 45 to 60 passengers, as per the reports. The redesigned Business Class will include large seats that can be converted into beds that are up to 7-feet long.
Jumeirah Beach Hotel to undergo renovations
  • Dubai's Jumeirah Beach Hotel will undergo a major makeover next summer, starting from mid-May to early October 2018. The work will extend to guest bedrooms, public spaces, lobby, retail areas, beach and outdoor facilities and restaurants. The hotel will relaunch in early October. Sven Wiedenhaupt, General Manager, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, said: "We are very excited that Jumeirah Beach Hotel is to undergo such a significant transformation".
