London tops European meeting destinations
  • London has retained its number one ranking as the most popular destination in Europe for corporate meetings and events for the fifth consecutive year. The list of 2019 edition of the Top 25 Meeting Destinations in Europe, compiled by meetings technology provider Cvent, had a total of four UK cities. Birmingham moved five spots up from last year's list to number 15, Manchester moved two spots up to 20th and Edinburgh is new to the list that came at number 22. The addition of Edinburgh to the list this year has made the UK and Germany tie for the most destinations on the list with four cities each.

British Airways' A350 prepares for first long haul flight to Dubai British Airways' has announced that its first A350 aircraft, which the airline acquired July 29, is being put through its paces with extensive trials in the run up to the launch of long-haul flight to Dubai on September 2. The airline's newest aircraft features latest generation business class seat, Club Suite. The state-of the-art A350 is quieter than some of its predecessors and is also environment friendly as 25 per cent lower fuel burn significantly reduces CO2 emissions. The new 'Club Suite' offers direct-aisle access, a suite door for enhanced privacy and luxurious flat-bed seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. It also boasts 40 per cent more storage and offers a vanity unit and mirror, 18.5-inch in-flight screens, WiFi, HD gate-to-gate programming, and PC/USB power.

Heathrow on-track to top 81 million passengers
  • Heathrow airport announced that it is on track to top 81 million passengers for the first time after it welcomed more than 7.75 million passengers in July. The airport has already served 46 million passengers this year which is 1.4 per cent more compared to the same period in 2018. New domestic flights announced this summer have pushed domestic passenger numbers, up 3.6% this month. Figures reveal that Africa saw the highest long-haul passenger growth, up 5.2%. North America and Africa saw the biggest boost in traffic since January, growing 4.7 per cent and 8.8 per cent respectively. Latin America services witnessed a 2.9 per cent boost in passenger numbers.
Virgin Atlantic and Delta Announce New Schedule between UK and US
  • Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines are increasing services between the U.K and U.S. starting next summer. Delta flights to Gatwick from Boston will begin on 22nd May 2020. One day before, Virgin Atlantic will start a daily flight from Gatwick to New York-JFK. Together the airlines will offer up to four daily services to three U.S. cities next summer. From March 29, 2020, the two airlines will boost capacity between New York-JFK and Heathrow by 15%. Delta will increase its flights to three daily frequencies, while Virgin Atlantic will operate five. Delta will return to Manchester with a new service to Boston starting May 21, 2020. Services will increase from the three per week at present to daily flights.

Brussels Airlines to re-launch its Bristol and Hannover routes Brussels Airlines has announced to re-launch its Bristol and Hannover routes that were previously operated by wet lease partner Flybmi. The airline has planned to connect Brussels with Bristol and Hannover five times a week from the start of September. Thereafter from October 27, the airline will increase the flights to Bristol to 12 times a week and to Hannover to six times weekly. Flights between Brussels and Hannover are also a popular amongst business travellers. Hannover, situated in the middle of Europe, is an attractive business location for international visitors.

Etihad to launch fourth daily flight to Heathrow
  • Etihad Airways has announced to launch a fourth daily year-round service between Abu Dhabi and London. The new flight is planned to commence on October 27th 2019 and will depart mid-morning from Abu Dhabi and late evening from Heathrow. Etihad will deploy a next-generation, two-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on one of its four daily London services with 28 business studios and 271 Economy Smart Seats. The other three flights use 486-seat A380 featuring The Residence, a luxurious three-room cabin, nine private First Apartments and 70 Business Studios apart from 405 Economy Smart Seats. Etihad's Abu Dhabi to London route is very popular with point-to-point business and leisure travellers and the airline boosted its flights to meet increased demand at peak travel times.
Glasgow Airport launches new £1.6m luxury lounge
  • Glasgow Airport has announced to launch a new £1.6m luxury lounge. It unveils the first design images of the lounge by the architect Sir Basil Spence who designed the airport in the 1960s. Named "the Lomond Lounge", it is planned to open later this summer and will be based airside in the departures area. It will be the fourth lounge at the airport and will operate from 05:00 to 21:00 daily. Over £1.6 million is being invested to design this executive lounge that will deliver superior customer experience for the passengers. The lounge will enjoy a prime location in the departures area of the airport and offer stunning views of both the airfield and the stunning backdrop of the Campsie Fells.

The worlds first hotel for houseplants opens in London A hotel named "Patch Plant Hotel" has just opened in London exclusively for houseplants. Those who are worried about the survival of their indoor plants while taking a long vacation or a business trip can bring them along and handover their beloved plants to the hotel. This "5-star all-inclusive" botanicals-only hotel will keep your plants alive with their free treatment from a plant wellness team including a custom hydrations spa. Located in Battersea, the hotel is totally free to book until 5 September 2019 and there are 100 rooms to pick from. The hotel accommodates all kinds of leafy residents, from sun-seeking plants to the ones who prefer a shady spot.
